Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Keoma ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. We use only strictly necessary and functional cookies — we do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the site operators. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them).

2. How We Use Cookies

We use the following categories of cookies:

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function. Without them, you cannot log in or use core features. They do not require your consent under the ePrivacy Directive.

  • Authentication cookies (sb-*) — Managed by Supabase, these maintain your login session. They are secure, HTTP-only cookies that expire when your session ends or after a set period of inactivity.
  • Child session cookie (keoma_child_id) — Stores which child profile is active on the device for the kids mode experience. Expires after 1 year. Does not contain personal information beyond an internal identifier.
  • Invite token cookie (invite_token) — Temporarily stores a family invite code during the signup/login flow. Cleared once the invite is accepted or rejected.

Functional Cookies

These cookies remember choices you make to provide a more personalized experience:

  • Locale cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) — Stores your language preference (English or French) so the site displays in your chosen language on subsequent visits.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We load Google Fonts to display our typefaces. Google may set cookies or use connection logs when serving font files. We do not use any other third-party cookies, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts. We do not use Google Analytics or any behavioral analytics platform.

4. Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete specific cookies. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using the Service (you will not be able to log in). For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit your browser's help documentation.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
